Responsible Gaming
Our Commitment
At Top Play Alberta, responsible gaming is not a box to tick — it is a principle embedded into every layer of our platform. We believe that online gaming, like any form of entertainment, should be engaged with freely, enjoyably, and with full awareness. Our responsible gaming program is built on four pillars: awareness, prevention, support, and intervention.
Awareness means ensuring every user understands the nature of online gaming as digital entertainment, not a financial strategy. Prevention means providing practical tools — limits, cooling-off periods, and self-exclusion options — before problems develop. Support means connecting users with professional resources when they need more than our platform can provide. Intervention means acting quickly and compassionately when signs of problematic behavior are identified.
We place responsible gaming links in our header and footer on every single page. We feature the Problem Gambling Helpline (1-800-522-4700) throughout. Our age verification system is robust because this platform is for adults only. If you have concerns about your own gaming habits, this page is the right place to start — all resources can be accessed privately, at any time.

Gaming Limits
Taking control of your gaming experience is straightforward with Top Play Alberta's limit-setting options. Available through your account settings, these tools allow you to define the boundaries of your gaming activity in advance — before emotions or momentum can influence your decisions.
Session Time Reminders — set a reminder to appear after a defined period of activity. When it appears, you decide whether to continue or stop.
Daily and Weekly Time Limits — establish a maximum number of hours per day or week on the platform. Once reached, games are inaccessible until your limit period resets.
Cooling-Off Period — a temporary pause of 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days can be applied at any time via account settings or by contacting support@topplayalberta.com. Changes that reduce access take effect immediately. Changes that increase access are subject to a 24-hour waiting period.
Self-Exclusion
Self-exclusion allows you to formally request account suspension for a defined period or permanently. How to request: email support@topplayalberta.com with subject "Self-Exclusion Request," specify duration (1 month / 3 months / 6 months / 1 year / permanent). We process within 24 hours.
Self-exclusion is irrevocable for the chosen period — no reinstatement before it ends. After expiry, a 7-day waiting period applies before access is restored and requires you to contact us proactively. We also encourage registration with Alberta provincial self-exclusion programs through Alberta Health Services.
